One of the fun things about winter are all the new nail polish colors that lay new on the shelves before Christmas. Do you have a holiday nail color preference? If not then maybe you will start one 😉 The trend this year are all things metallic, glittery, and different shades like navy, purple, and green. Gosh I am sure you have seen those awesome stick on nails, super easy and can last for 10 days!
1. Glittery Polishes
These colors have been seen everywhere in fashion magazines, so why not wear them on your nails? It’s like wearing jewelry on your nails!! Also winter can be a little dismal and dark so with these fun, bling colors seeing some sparkle on your fingers as you look down can sure add some excitement and brighten up your day;) The Essie LuxEffects topcoats (left) are fantabulous because you can use them on its own or on top of your regular nail color at home. The glitter ranges from fine to chunky. The OPI Muppets Collection glitter polish are so much fun too. I am definitely a fan of the green color which is going to be big this winter!
2. Earthy Mushroom Taupe Nails
These are definitely a favorite of mine! I love all things earthy, especially on nails, makes me feel all sophisticated in some way 😉 The grey tones is not a new trend, this began last year, but I think it’s continuing to make its mark. I am a huge fan of the chocolatey, taupey yummy colors (elf), and they are the new “It Neutral” colors. These colors are good to wear at work and can transition beautifully into an evening look. These can be found in glitter, metallic, matte, shine or even as a nail tip color. These colors can range from dark to light so they can be enjoyed by everyone!
3. Metallic Nails
I am loving Sonia Kashuk metallics as well as the fun colors from Nicole by OPI. The most popular ones this year are the deep plum, dark graphite, navy (not shown here) and gold metallic colors. It adds the bling without the glitter, so can be worn down or dressed up. This trend is super versatile and that’s what makes it fun!
4. Press-on Manicure
I am super excited to try these nails, they will be coming out in the next few weeks. You can visit their website and check out all the fun shades – a whole 36 to choose from. They just stick on your nails and can last about a week. The great thing is that you can file them down to whatever shape you want and to remove just peel them off in one minute! It is compared to the gel manicure without the cost! You will be able to find them at any drugstore very soon!! They are great for on the go or a special occasion. Go out and imPRESS your girlfriends with these fast and easy stick-ons 😉
5. MAC Nail Polish gift set
As a MAC freelance makeup artist, I am simply loving our new winter nail collection, and love the adorable package it comes in. There are four nail colors: Style Tip (creamy neutral pink), Dark Angel (deep purple; not shown), Much Adored (pale shimmer), and I love Mistletoe (greenish-goldish metallic). Be a ‘hit’ with your friends and get them the Mini Hit-Makers from Nicole by OPI. Purple is huge this season and so is Justine Beaber’s new hair cut 😉 The smaller bottles make it super easy to apply the nail polish and you will look salon ready after application… I promise 😉 The great thing is that it includes both glitter and metallic polishes!
