I was actually in South Africa on Sunday when the Golden Globes took place here in Los Angeles. I cant believe I missed out on all the exciting hair and makeup looks!!! I was suppose to work there too! There was a lot of experimenting going on with the hair and makeup which I really liked to see. Most of all, I like to take gorgeous looks from these events to give inspiration to my brides and my models. Here are some of my favorite looks.
Angelina Jolie looked stunning! I loved her hair placed in that pretty bun, looks so elegant. I have had many brides ask for a bright red or pink lip. It’s important to make sure that the eyes are subtle yet still defined like Angelina. She has focused more on darkening her lash line which looks great in combination with a strong lip.
Freida Pinto looked really beautiful. Her makeup looked flawless and very soft. This look is perfect for the brides that want their makeup to look subtle. I like her hair from the side, perhaps she should have had more texture on top to create definition, but she looks great.
Michelle Williams looked so pretty. I love how simple her makeup looks. That lip color is gorgeous and totally a color I would use on my brides. My favorite of all is how dewy and youthful her skin looks, this is extremely important when taking photographs especially if you are a bride.
Dianna Agron looks sensational! Of course I love her hair and all that texture, it looks so effortlessly pretty. For those brides that would like an up-do with bangs/fringe you can try this and softly sweep your hair back and to the side. Looks so pretty!
I love Charlize Theron, not only because she is another fellow South African but because she always looks so chic and classy! I love her hair here. The side bun is so popular with my brides, but it has to be kept loose and flowy filled with texture. I love that you can accessorize this do with anything. I love the headband she is wearing.
Jessica Biel looks so gorgeous here. I love her soft waves and I think her dark hair during winter looks great. Love the peach color on her cheeks and her pink lip has just the right amount of sheen. I love this shiny hair for a bridal look, but it’s important to take out any frizz using the right products as her hair is slightly frizzy.
I think Natalie Portman looks lovely. I chose this look because I love how she has a dark smokey eye that’s kept very subtle. I love her dewy skin and cheek color.
Can she ever look awful? Jessica Alba’s makeup looks amazing here. She definitely looks airbrushed. I love the lashes and the dark eye shadow. That’s a lipstick color we should all have in our purses!
This is my favorite look from the night! Zooey Deschanel looks so sultry and doe-eyed. I love her shiny voluminous hair and the fact that it looks so healthy. At first I thought it was a wig, but who knows. I do love the different brown hues in her hair. I also love how she has placed so much emphasis on her lashes keeping them long and dark. For those brides that want to keep the focus on their eyes, keeping your lashes looking healthy and long is a must!
This is the ultimate beach wave. Reese Witherspoon made a change from her usual sleek straight hair to this big and bouncy beachy hair. This is a great look for a bride having a destination wedding.
I love watching the Golden Globes and seeing all the ladies arriving looking all fabulous!
