Hello ladies
Well, spring is in the air and summer around the corner and out come our nails and toes in summer sandals waiting to be flaunted!. I am so excited at the new Shellac gel polish colours that have just been released.
As a nail technician, I love to see when the new season colours come out and what the new trends will be and this spring time, it seems to be all pastel which reminds me of ice-creams. Shellac has just brought out their new spring 2013 collection called Sweet Dreams and there are 5 pastel colours in blue, lime, lilac, pink and a sparkly hue. Now call me boring, ok, mature but I just cant bring myself yet to wear pastel blue, green or purple but maybe I am just not very adventurous. However, I know some people are going to love the new shades and I do love the pink colour called cake pop. It reminds me a little bit of Essie’s Fiji but maybe slightly pinker but it is an opaque shade and I think it is totally fab for the spring. For those of you that are new to Shellac or gel polish manicures, these nail polishes are applied on your nails by a nail technician like a regular polish, except your nail polish is then cured in a UV or LED lamp and lasts for about 2 – 3 weeks if you don’t mind the regrowth. They are amazing and revolutionary and I defy you to not look at your hands and wanna jump from joy – haha, but there is nothing better than having a lovely manicure. So for those of you that haven’t tried gel polishes out yet, head to your nearest boutique and maybe you are trendy enough to sport the new pastel shades and ask for your favourite either Grapefruit Sparkle, Azure Wish (blue), Lilac Longing, Limeade or my favorite Cake Pop. I think these are going to look great for Easter!
